Putting the “I” in President

I am not sure we have ever had a President of the United States as narcissist and arrogant as our current President. Imagine, for a second… a three year U.S Senator (with three years being said, “Loosely”) without ONE single piece of important legislation authored and or passed during this time and who voted “present” over 130! Times, 130! TIMES!

This as an Illinois State Senator! The guy can’t even take a stand on the state level and now we expect him to deliver on the national level?  This is like calling up a single “A” Pitcher and expecting him to throw a no hitter in the World Series; we should assume we are screwed.

            But imagine that people think our single “A” pitcher, who has never even completed a game or thrown a no- hitter, is all of a sudden Nolan Ryan, begging for a chance to pitch to the best hitters in the game.

Except the problem is the whole world saw him throw out the first pitch at the 2009 All- Star Game, and his sissy looking pitch totally reflects his sissy looking take on politics, except, like his pitch, he thinks he’s throwing heat. The world thinks otherwise.

In 2009 President Obama has yet to pass anything major besides his atrocious $787 billion dollar stimulus package, which  promised jobs that still haven’t came. Unemployment continues to rise,   

“(Reuters) - U.S. employers cut a deeper-than-expected 263,000 jobs in September, lifting the unemployment rate to 9.8 percent, according to a government report on Friday that fueled fears the weak labor market could undermine economic recovery. The Labor Department said the unemployment rate was the highest since June 1983 and payrolls had now dropped for 21 consecutive months.”

            And we have a leader who has spoken more about himself than ANY other President in our nation’s history, and still hasn’t pitched a strike!

            So far in the 41 speeches he has given in 2009, he has mentioned himself 1,198 times to be exact. This equals 1,121 “I”’s and only 77 “me’s” during all of his speeches so far. This surpasses any president by more than 8x per speech.

It also does not include the fact that President Obama has already had a record 8 prime- time press conferences, surpassing Bush I, Clinton and Bush II COMBINED!

            During President Obama’s recent speech to the IOC he mentioned “I” in an astounding 70 of the 80 paragraphs of his speech. No wonder Chicago came in last of the four nations vying for the Olympics; imagine what a man who can’t throw a baseball 90 feet, 9 inches without hitting the dirt( and looking like a girl in the meantime, sorry to all you girls) would do to our Nation’s Athletic Prestige, he’s already done enough to kill our Nations Political Prestige.

            Of course Narcissus was the man who in Greek mythology fell in love with his own reflection, not his girly pitch….

Obama’s Real Waterloo

Over the summer, just as the town hall rallies began to intensify and before the 9/12 “Freedom Rally” which took place on the mall, in our nation’s capital, Senator Jim DeMint,         (R SC, who spoke at the rally) was quoted as saying, “If we’re able to stop Obama on this, it will be his Waterloo. It will break him.” He was of course speaking out about the Democrats scatterbrained health care plan. (Now I am pretty sure the Democrats will inevitable be able to push through some sort of health care reform, except I am just as confused as everyone else, as to what kind of measures the plan will actually include.) I think that Sen. DeMint was correct about a “Waterloo” situation that President Obama will face in the future; I just don’t think it will be Health Care, it will be Afghanistan.

Obama is being incredible naïve and complacent on this issue and while he continues to fumble around with the situation, it is increasingly worsening for our troops and the fragile stability of the area. Earlier in the month, an article was published in The Washington Post, which stated from anonymous high ranking Pentagon officials that Obama had only met with General Stanley McChrystal-Commander of US and NATO Forces in Afghanistan- ONE time since his presidency began. It was also released that Gen. McChrystal has been practically down on his hands and knees begging Obama to increase the amount of American Forces to the area to regain control of the Taliban and Al-Qaeda. This article now puts Obama in a peculiar position- If he increases troops he will inevitable suffer some US casualties- the liberal left could abandon him and he would now “own” the war in Afghanistan.  Yet, if he doesn’t follow the Generals advice then we continue to suffer losses and eventually will need to withdraw from the area, giving the Taliban and terrorist’s a huge moral victory which may end up leading to another 9/11.

            Now remember these two crucial facts about President Obama, the first is that he was adamantly against Gen. Petraeus’s “Surge” troop plan in Iraq during the election and stated repeatedly that it would fail before it had even began. We all now know what a brilliant plan that was and how it changed the tide of the war in Iraq. The second fact is that he is one of a few of our nations Presidents who never served in any of our military service branches. Therefore, it gives him less judgment on how the military operates and the urgency these delicate situations require for a leader to act swiftly to protect his men. These two facts are essential in helping to understand how this man thinks.  These are “waterloo” decisions that the President signed up for when he was sworn in.

Already we are beginning to see the left start to crater on Afghanistan and especially on the comments Gen. McChrystal has made public about his need for more men. In an article today by the ultra liberal Washington Post writer, Eugene Robinson, titled- (Patriotically)

 “Generals Need to Shut Up and Salute”, he writes-

 “I didn't like "active-duty generals dabbling in politics, even if I agree with them." If military officers want to devise and implement geopolitical strategy, they should leave their jobs and run for office.”

And continues by making claims that the General should have basically no say in what the Presidents strategy should be. This is total absurdity! In his view, then the President shouldn’t need a cabinet, czars, or any of his many economic advisors whom regularly push the President’s agenda on the public. It also shows the lefts almost universally held contempt they have for the military, which began during Vietnam. It also shows the lefts utter compliance towards attacking whoever goes against “The Anointed One.”

            On Sunday we lost 8 brave marines when more than 250 insurgents attacked a remote US outpost in Afghanistan. This brazen attack occurred while Obama was off in Copenhagen trying to charm the IOC in a bid for Chicago to hold the 2016 games.

It’s time that the president stops campaigning and starts leading- or he will have his “waterloo” and it will be a disaster for him to overcome.

Obama's "Dream Team"

With the nations problems in the economy, Iran, and the two wars, the MSM has conveniently  been “Too busy with other more newsworthy items”, as the editor of the NY Times has been quoted as saying as well as being skeptical and dismissive over the recent ACORN scandal. ACORNS troubles began when two amateur filmmakers secretly recorded ACORN workers in 4 different city’s providing the participants (whom posed as a pimp and a prostitute trying to set up a brothel) with advice on how to smuggle in under-age children to serve as prostitutes, evade taxes, and how to receive other government entitlements provided from ACORN. This proved to be amazingly embarrassing for ACORN and caused the Senate to swiftly and overwhelmingly vote to cut government funding for the liberal community organization that’s been under increasing federal pressure for its 2008 get-out- the vote campaigns that so far have netted over eight different ACORN officials in the same number of states. Barack Obama has long and deep ties to this crooked organization when as a Community Organizer in 1992; he headed a registration effort for Project Vote, an Acorn partner at the time. In 1995, he represented Acorn in a key case upholding the new Motor Voter Act -- the very law whose mandated postcard registration system Acorn workers use to flood election offices with bogus registrations. This should have been the tip of the iceberg for the elite members of the media to begin investigating Obama and his past personal and political ties to examine if he has any other nefarious affiliations. Instead, like with every other possible questions or association raised they swept it under the rug and allowed him to continue his ever popular “Hope and Change” mantra.

If the MSM at least “Googled” the name of many of Obama’s past friends it would be unthinkable that this man should even have had a shot to get elected, more less become our nation’s 44^th president. You have:

1.      Reverend Wright- Obama’s Pastor of 20 years- Whose colorful quotes include “God Dam America! Home of the AmeriKKKa, and who hates Jews, and preaches divisive Black Liberation Theology.

2.      William Ayers- Member of militant group, Weather Underground, which bombed the Pentagon and an NYPD station, killing 2.

3.      Antoin “Tony” Rezko- A real estate developer who gave the Obama’s sweetheart land deals and as well as  representing Rezko’s company, REZMAR, to ensure it secured over $43 million in federal funds to rebuild the slums he ran.(which he never did)-  He  is currently in jail for several counts of fraud and bribery.

4.      The Chicago Political machine of Mayor Daley and Gov. Rod Blagojevich who is also was arrested on federal corruption charges on December 9, 2008. The charges involved conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and solicitation of bribery. Obama also campaigned heavily for him when running for Governor.

These are just a few of the people that should have been examined during the campaign.

    After becoming President he continued to compile a wonderful list of admirable fellows including these:

1.      Tom Daschle- HHS- who didn’t pay income taxes and was forced out of the HHS position Obama assigned to him.

2.       Tim Geithner- Our Top economic adviser- also a tax cheat

3.      Kathleen Sebelius- HHS- March 2009 she admitted to "unintentional errors" in tax returns and paid nearly $8,000 in back taxes

4.      Bill Richardson- Chairman of Commerce- Forced to withdraw his name after being investigated for wrongdoings by New Mexico and Federal officials.

5.      Todd Stern- Climate Czar- Thinks the only way to combat global warming is to paint all roads and roofs white. (seriously) Also thinks government should put sterilizations in city’s water to help population controls.

6.      Van Jones- Green Jobs Czar- Avowed communist, Black Panther…etc

7.      John Holdren- Science Czar- Believes that all animals should have the same rights as humans and even have representation by humans in courts. Also wants to outlaw all forms of hunting.

8.      Yosi Sergant- NEA (National Endowment of the Arts)- resigned recently for to mixing the NEA's work -- essentially non-partisan politics -- with the administration's legislative agenda on a conference call to art organizations to help push Obama’s agendas.

9.      Kevin Jennings- Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools Director- Following renewed reports about Jennings' failure to report an incident where a teen-aged student claimed to be sexually involved with an adult, Jennings admitting that he had acted improperly, only told the student to make sure to wear a condom!     

We can only imagine how many others haven’t been vetted by the MSM or swept under the rugs like all his other issues. The scariest this is that Obama still has over 70 seats to fill, Im sure each one will have just as colorful resumes as his past appointees. This fits perfectly with the quote about success being- “Your only as Successful as the people who you Surround yourself with” – Looks like President Obama will have on extremely successful presidency.

Obama's "Hope and Change" Problems

   

          President Obama has defiantly fulfilled his campaign promise of bringing about “Hope and Change” to Washington DC. Except for it being the kind of change that will fundamentally alter the landscape of the nation for years to come. He campaigned promising to go “line by line” in any bill that came across his desk laden with pork and veto anything that he deemed was reckless and unnecessary spending, vowing to remove each and every “pork” project that congressmen and Senators stuffed into bills simply to pass legislation that would benefit them. Instead we have now seen the Presidents vow and it came in the form of a $787 billion dollar stimulus package that was stuffed with tons of ridiculous pork projects he simply ignored.

         The pork in his stimulus package will do nothing to stimulate the economy but only help to keep America on its current path of having a ten year $10 trillion dollar deficit that will shatter all hopes of allowing him to pass healthcare reform, which has a current price tag of $1 trillion dollars and in DC money that can only grow substantially.  As our current 44^th president tries to jam down his ultra-liberal agendas including cap and trade and a massive overhaul of government, combined with a substantial increase in government entitlements, we must ask ourselves who will pay for this, and when will the money run out?

          Obama ran a campaign promising not to raise taxes on anyone making more than $250,000 a year and has repeatedly reiterated this promise to the American people. This has to be one of the biggest lies that have been told in any recent presidential campaign. It only gets worse by the MSM being so compliant in allowing his white house staff to go unquestioned by the media and allowing his continually rhetoric go without any public concern or vetting. When dealing with any debt, as a company or as a normal citizen, everyone knows that you simply cannot spend your way out of it. If you are in credit card debt it doesn’t simply disappear by using a new credit card to pay off your old debt, it just transfers that debt to another debt. Why would such an educated staff of assembled professionals think that the American public would be so compliant with this method?  Instead we need to conclude that his transfer of wealth to those who are “unlucky” as the President recently said will be bought and paid for by the same middle class that he was so aggressive in recruiting during his 2008 campaign. Realistically the wealthy can only pay for so much of our nation’s current $10 trillion dollar deficit. That leaves anyone making more than $150,000 than $100,000 than $80,000 and so on… and that’s only with federal taxes. Wait till you begin getting hit with your state and local taxes, property taxes, income taxes, vehicle taxes…etc. All of a sudden the $100,000 that you have worked so hard to earn slowly gets whittled down to less than half that. It starts becoming very scary for the average American who is paying a mortgage, car payments, and student loans; not even taking into consideration the price of trying to raise or start a family.

               Suddenly President Obama’s “Hope and Change” isn’t as appealing as it was when he was able to convince so many people through his empty, yet soaring rhetoric. There is no question he is a gifted speaker and amazing campaigner, unfortunately he can only blame Bush for so long until the public begins tiring with that excuse and begin looking for the promising leader they witnessed on the campaign trail.

       The only problem is that the people who voted for him in droves are the same people who contribute the least to society and benefit the most from the massive government entitlements Obama proposes. This gives him a fair chance of getting another four years in the White House. The only problem will be is that he will no longer have Bush to blame for the Nation’s woes. You can only wonder who the next scapegoat will be, but I am pretty sure it will start with an O and end with an A.   

A Forgotten War?

As the democrats and our President continue to aggressively push their Health Care Reform Bill during the August recess the media seems to be taking the same vacation that our congressmen and Senators are enjoying. As the MSM follows President Obama’s bike rides, rounds of golf, and family ice cream cone outings during his posh vacation at a $50,000 a week Martha Vineyard mansion, they have decided to again ignore the nation’s “real” news to focus on a Presidents meaningless family vacation at a elite location that 98% of Americans would never be able to afford. So as all the beltway insiders agree that August is typically the slowest news month of the year in DC, they have decided to completely ignore the fact that July and August has been the deadliest month in Afghanistan since we have been there in late 2001 after 9/11.

            During President George W Bush’s term as president every nightly newscast began and ended with daily updates on the miserable progress and deadly toll the war in Iraq and Afghanistan was taking on our brave troops who were fighting for our country’s freedom. Car bombs, suicide bombers, and IED’s were showing us the graphic and deadly consequences of our nation waging a war on terror. The MSM also highlighted many misleading stories about our troops committing wonton acts of brutality including rapes and murders on innocent Iraqi and Afghanistan civilians, and even declared our U.S marines guilty for the of killing 8 civilians in Haditha, during a fierce fire- fight, before the facts had even came out. All 9 accused Marines have been completely exonerated on these charges and still haven’t received an apology from our nation’s media or the Liberal Democrats who accused them of these heinous crimes

When Bush would use Air Force drones to carryout targeted and successful bombings of high level Al- Qaeda operatives in Afghanistan the leading media news story would inevitably focus on the one or two innocent victims who were staying in the same hut as these terrorists. Then as these newscasters has finished their diatribe of how horrible and heartless it was of Bush to order bombings knowing that innocent civilians may be killed, they would casually mention the success of the attacks and hardly focus on how the world and our country now has two or three less militant terrorists to fight against. The bias was widespread and misleading to average Americans and gave ammo to the nations liberals about how awful the damage of war is.

Now we have a MSM that continues to sleep on the mounting casualties which are currently occurring in Afghanistan. As our America soldiers body’s pile up, the media chooses to focus on what kind of ice cream Obama’s family is eating or what the first lady decided to wear on her latest trip out. What happened to the constant news footage of deadly bombings in Afghanistan and American soldier’s body’s being loaded into caskets draped American flags onto Air Force cargo plans that ABC, NBC, and CNN decided to show during Bush’s presidency? These images had been considered taboo since the Vietnam war and news organizations had decided since them that it was “un-honorable” for the images to be shown out of respect for the victims family’s. That ended with the MSM’s hatred towards Bush, yet has currently stopped because of the media’s love affair with Obama.

Recently Gen. Stanley McChrystal, the leader of all our military forces in Afghanistan has declared “That the Taliban has currently gained back strongholds in many of the country’s city’s including, populated areas like the volatile southern city of Kandahar, the insurgency’s spiritual home, and that unless we increase our troop levels immediately that this war may be lost”.

Violence is on the rise in Afghanistan even as it falls in Iraq, where nearly twice as many U.S. troops are still based. Five U.S. troops have died in Iraq this month, three fewer than in July. More than 60,000 U.S. troops are in the country — a record number — to fight rising insurgent violence. The number of roadside bombs deployed by militants across the country has skyrocketed, and U.S. forces have moved into new and deadlier areas this summer, in part to help secure the country's Aug. 20 presidential election.

 While these escalations continue to occur, the same liberals and media types however have continued to show their infatuation with our current President by hardly mentioning the fact that July and August have been the deadliest months ever in Afghanistan since we have been there for the last 8 years.

            Again, the MSM would rather praise Obama’s every move while ignoring some of the serious challenges our country is currently facing, eventually these facts will begin to out- way the adulation, and the media and the President need to confront the truth.

The Obama Stumble

August has been a rough, rough, month for the Obama Administration and Democrats in both the House and Senate. As they used May, June, and July to try and push their awful and confusing Health Care Plan on Americans, many used the August recess to head home and try to push the plan on their constituents. It ended up being a miss-guided political move that backfired on many Democrats who had a rough time weathering the storm politically. They met tough resistance from voters in their districts who are worried about the possible problems relating to the “Nationalized Health Care System” being proposed that would cause them problems in their late term care. These voters have legitimate concerns that cross party lines and many Republicans felt the same anger in trying to explain this perplexing plan that riled up ordinary citizens causing them to question their congressmen. This anger felt by the politicians (many being Democrats) caused them to retreat from these town halls, putting these democrats between a rock and a hard place. Feeling the heat the Democratic Party decided to reverse course on their well planned talking points and instead tried to turn up the heat on the same people who elected them into office. Instead of re-organizing and clarifying their message, they started attacking and accusing their voters of being “plants” and resorted to calling them “un-American” and “un-patriotic” as Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Steny Hoyer are all quoted as saying. This does nothing to progress their agenda and in fact, has worsened their appeal in the national polls. It doesn’t make much sense to fight with the people who are responsible for your jobs and worsens their credibility nationally when they cannot take any criticism on a plan many Americans of both party’s truly oppose.

Lost in Translation

On Wednesday night during President Obama’s speech to the joint sessions of congress there wasn’t a louder echo of the president’s speech than two simple words spoken by an anonymous back bench congressman from South Carolina name Joe Wilson. As  the president began elaborating on his heath care plan which he promised congress that Illegal Immigrants wouldn’t be covered, Congressman Joe Wilson (R, SC) shouted, “You Lie” which drew a deathly stare from House Leader Nancy Pelosi and has been reverberating ever since in the MSM as well as the blogosphere. These two simple words have managed to further split the bipartisan effort of the president and create a deeper chasm between both party’s as they argue over who and what President Obama’s Health Care Initiative will cover and how. Yet, these simple words have given the liberal media all the fodder it needs to now paint conservative republicans as racists, again.

            Joe Wilson immediately apologized to the President and his staff after his outburst, which they graciously accepted, but the matter and his words continue to be scrutinized and dissected by the liberal elite MSM, who continue to “SCREAM  Racist” at every opportunity they get. Many in the media also refuse to recognize Mr. Wilson’s service to the country in the National Guard- as well as refusing to cover the fact that all four of his sons have served in the military, next to and with soldiers of every race, sex, and religious affiliation.

 Now, Mr. Wilson is not only being painted as a racist, but as an activist trying to the deny rights to the over 30 million illegal immigrants who are currently in our country. So he now hates both blacks and Hispanics.

            David Shuster a MSNBC anchor was quoted as saying, ““I think the evidence is so overwhelming that there is an effort out there to demonize the first African-American president. I think that the question is, is there sort of an institutional bigotry in certain quarters of this country, or are these isolated instances? And I don’t know the answer to that, but it’s frightening either way.” This irresponsible commentary was never questioned during the Presidency of George W Bush when they MSM continually focused on his “rush to war” as they continually lead the news with American Soldiers being killed fighting the “War on Terror”, a term quietly retired during Obama’s first few months of his presidency. MSNBC also lead their Monday coverage with poster showing Obama being a communist or Marxist, terms that were immediately labeled on Bush as he, and our amazing troops valiantly fought to make America the safe haven it had been before 9/11. There was no uproar over these marches or the comments made by Senator Harry Reid calling President Bush a liar while speaking to Nevada High School Students in 2006. 

            The fact of the matter is Rep. Joe Wilson was wrong to shout out in such a hallowed place, yet the White House immediately released a press memo the following day proclaiming that in fact Illegal Immigrants would not be covered up the new Health Care Bill, giving Rep. Wilson a huge victory and validation to the claim that under the past bill, Illegal Immigrants would have in fact been covered by this new Health Care Reform.    

            So the real question remains, Who really is lying?
